Wine Making

The Kelvedon Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is crafted from carefully selected grapes grown in the cool, maritime-influenced vineyards of Tasmania. The fruit was harvested at optimal ripeness to ensure vibrant acidity and fresh fruit character.

The wine underwent cool fermentation in stainless steel to preserve the aromatic intensity and zesty flavours. With minimal intervention, the winemaking process focused on enhancing the natural fruit expression, resulting in a clean, refreshing wine that’s perfect for immediate enjoyment.

Meet the owners

Kelvedon Estate has been in the Cotton family since 1829, a working farm on Tasmania's East Coast long before grapes ever entered the picture. Viticulture only began in 1998, when the family planted their first hectare of Pinot Noir on the property's rolling hills near Swansea, overlooking Great Oyster Bay. Now in its fifth generation, Kelvedon produces Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc alongside a long-standing supply arrangement that sees some of its fruit go into the celebrated House of Arras sparkling range.

About the region

Stretching from St Helens in the north to Bream Creek in the south, Tasmania's East Coast is as breathtaking as it is bountiful. A milder climate than the rest of the state, spectacular coastal scenery, and over 300 hectares under vine make this one of Tasmania's most exciting wine regions. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the stars, but the East Coast also turns out outstanding Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, wines with a freshness and purity that's genuinely hard to find anywhere else.
