Wildstate Wines
The Riesling Selection
(0)
$110.00
Three Rieslings, three genuinely different takes on what Tasmania does better than almost anywhere else in the world. Utzinger's Tamar Valley drop is textural and complex, floral and citrus-driven with a leesy depth that builds into something full-bodied and long. Stargazer's Coal River Valley version goes the other way, precise and tangy, all lemon sherbet and lime zest with a salivating, wet stone finish. Wellington & Wolfe rounds things out with a crisp, uncompromising Tamar Valley style, powerful acid and tart stone fruit carrying a long, dry finish. A genuine introduction to the range Tasmanian Riesling has to offer, and a thoughtful gift for any white wine lover.

What's inside the bundle
Tamar Valley
Wellington and Wolfe Riesling
Wellington and Wolfe make Riesling the way it should be made, crisp, dry, and uncompromising. Vibrant floral aromas on the nose, with a textured palate of tart stone fruits and fresh lime. A strong acid backbone supports a long, powerful finish that lingers well after the glass is empty. A wine for those who know what they want. Pair with fresh oysters, grilled fish, or Thai cuisine. Drink now through 2032.
Tamar Valley
Utzinger Riesling
Matthias Utzinger brings a European precision to Tasmanian Riesling, and this 2023 is a beautiful expression of that approach. Pale yellow with a green tint, the nose is intense and floral with butterfly bush, bergamot citrus, dried apricot, and a subtle leesy complexity with a hint of matchstick. The palate is mellow on entry, building to a fairly full-bodied experience with beautifully balanced acidity. Textural, fresh, and long. Pair with pork, Asian cuisine, or aged soft cheese. Drink now through 2031.
Coal River Valley
Stargazer Riesling
Stargazer's Coal River Valley Riesling is a wine of precision and place. Citrus lemon and lime zest on the nose, with a refreshing finish and tangy vibrancy that's unmistakably cool climate Tasmanian. From one of the state's most thoughtful producers, this is a Riesling that rewards attention. Pair with fresh oysters, sashimi, or Vietnamese cuisine.
Why We Put This Together
Same grape, three completely different takes on it. This bundle exists to show how much region and producer can change a single variety, one grower's soil, one winemaker's approach, one particular corner of the island, all doing something a little different with the same grape. Side by side, the differences are the interesting part.
Make It a Gift
A bundle like this already feels considered, but a couple of small additions make it feel complete. A Wildstate Gift Card means they can come back and choose their own favourite once they've worked out which one it is. Or add a piece of glassware made for exactly this kind of wine, a small nod to the island it came from, and a nice thing to have on the table when they pour it.
