Our Story

Wildstate Wines started with Tim Paddison and Candice Steele, two people who'd fallen for Tasmanian wine and couldn't understand why it wasn't easier to find. So much of what the island produces stays close to home, sold through tiny cellar doors and small allocations, rarely making it to the rest of the country. Tim and Candice set out to change that, and with Aaron now part of the team, Wildstate has grown from an idea into a genuine home for Tasmanian wine, built on real relationships with the people who grow and make it.

We work directly with producers across the island, from multi-generational family vineyards to newcomers releasing their very first vintage, and we take real pride in that. Every producer we carry is someone we know, not just a label on a shelf. When you buy through Wildstate, you're buying into that relationship too.

What We Do

Wildstate is a curated online wine store dedicated entirely to Tasmanian wine. Every bottle we stock earns its place, chosen for its quality, its individuality, and the story behind the label, and we lean toward small, independent producers who care as much about sustainability and craft as they do about the wine itself.

Our aim is simple. We want it to be genuinely easy, and genuinely exciting, for people anywhere in Australia to discover and enjoy the best of what Tasmania makes.

Why Tasmania?

Tasmania is one of the most exciting wine regions in the country, and it's not hard to see why. The cool climate and clean air do something to grapes that's hard to replicate anywhere else, coaxing out elegance and detail rather than sheer power. The geography adds its own layer, too. Head to the Tamar Valley and you'll find iron rich soil and centuries of history. Out to the East Coast, and it's all sunshine and generosity. Down to the Huon Valley, and the wines turn quiet and cool. Every region makes something different, and every bottle carries a little of the place it came from.
