Dawson James

Dawson James began with a friendship. Peter Dawson and Tim James met in 1976 working at Hardy & Sons, and decades later brought their combined experience, more than 80 vintages between them, to a single vineyard project on the Meadowbank site in the Derwent Valley. The vines here were planted back in 1989, and the pair pick to acid rather than sugar, chasing the same fruit from the same vines every year so the only real variable is the vintage itself. The results consistently rank among the finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir the state produces.
