Evenfall
Evenfall sits on one of the Tamar Valley's oldest vineyard sites, first planted at Legana back in 1972 and known over the decades as Powercourt, then Elmslie, before Tasmanian-born berry entrepreneur Richard Winspear took it on and gave it its current name. Evenfall now shares its restored cellar door and restaurant with neighbouring label Bellebonne, with winemaker Liam McElhinney crafting Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon from some of the oldest Cabernet vines in the state. It's a genuinely collaborative corner of the Tamar, home to several of the region's most exciting names under one roof.

Evenfall blends fruit from the Tamar Valley and East Coast to create a Chardonnay of genuine balance and elegance. Lemon, peach, and a subtle nuttiness on the nose, with citrus and peach on the palate complemented by refined textures of almond meal and lemon curd. Bright acidity keeps everything fresh without overpowering the delicate complexity, and the rich, creamy finish lingers beautifully. Pair with fresh seafood, roast chicken, or creamy pasta. Drink now through 2029.
A striking first release from Evenfall, and one that announces itself with confidence. Mid ruby in the glass, the nose is a beautiful tangle of wild strawberry, cherry, cinnamon, five spice, and char siu — unexpected and captivating. The palate is refined and balanced, with pillowy tannins and a gamey edge that lingers into morello cherry and charcuterie on the finish. This is a wine for the curious. Pair with duck breast or pork belly. Drink now through 2028.
Evenfall's Cabernet Sauvignonis a striking wine. Deep crimson in the glass, with a complex bouquet of blackberry, black cherry, blackcurrant pastille, liquorice, cedar, tobacco, and clove. Subtle layers of ginger, black olive, dried herbs, and tea leaves add depth, while fine gravelly tannins carry the palate to a lingering finish of cassis and kirsch. A wine of genuine elegance and refinement from one of the Tamar Valley's most exciting producers. Pair with slow-roasted lamb, venison, or aged hard cheese. Drink now through 2032.
