2forty9 is a genuine family farm story. The Green family has worked the Wattlebanks property at Campania, in the Coal River Valley, since 1954, and it's now the fourth generation, Malcolm and Tracy's children Hunter and Havana, growing up on the land. The first Pinot Noir vines went in back in 2016, and the family made a deliberate choice to grow only Pinot Noir, nothing else, betting everything on seeing just how far a single variety can go in this cool climate. It's an unusual level of focus, even by Tasmanian standards, and one that's already paying off in wines built to be approachable young while still carrying the structure to age.

Named after the latitude that runs through Tasmania's Coal River Valley, 2forty9 is a wine rooted in place. Fruit-driven and lifted on the nose, with fine tannins that provide elegant structure. The palate is beautifully layered, with the natural cool-climate acidity that makes Coal River Valley Pinot so compelling. A genuine expression of one of Tasmania's most celebrated wine regions. Pair with duck, salmon, or mushroom risotto. Drink now through 2029.
