Rush Wines is the very personal project of Sam Rush, who swapped a forensic chemistry degree for a life in vineyards after a few years working in hospitality sparked his interest in wine. After honing his craft in the Hunter Valley and then across some of Tasmania's most respected producers, including Delamere and Stefano Lubiana, Sam launched his own label in the Tamar Valley in 2021. Made with minimal intervention and no cellar door in sight, Rush wines are sold online and around Launceston, made by a Rush, not in a rush.

Every region in Tasmania grows something a little differently. Building a bundle around one region, say the Tamar Valley or the East Coast, is a way to really get to know a place, its soil, its climate, its particular way of making Pinot Noir or Riesling. It's less about variety and more about depth.

Rush's Pinot Gris is made in the classic Italian Ramato style, gentle skin contact giving it a distinctive bronze hue and a fine, tactile texture that sets it apart from the crowd. Lively movement on the palate, with a rounded mid palate that carries depth and balance. A wine of real individuality and character from one of the Tamar Valley's most interesting producers. Pair with charcuterie, pork, or aged soft cheese. Drink now through 2028.
Rush Wines sits in the Tamar Valley, and this 2023 Pinot shows the precision that cool-climate growing delivers. Bright blue fruit flavours accented by delicate oak spice on the nose, with a crisp, vibrant acidity that gives a lively entrance. The palate is dense and layered with juicy blue fruits with subtle chocolate nuances emerging through the mid-palate. A refined and expressive Pinot with both vibrancy and sophistication. Pair with duck, salmon, or mushroom risotto. Drink now through 2030.
Rush's 2025 Chardonnay is clear and golden in the glass, with enticing stone fruit and crisp citrus on the nose. Charry oak and subtle oak spice are balanced by a fine acidity line and smooth texture, with hints of almond meal and a touch of reduction adding complexity. A beautifully rounded wine with excellent structure and harmony from one of the Tamar Valley's most interesting producers. Pair with fresh seafood, roast chicken, or creamy pasta.
