Barringwood

Barringwood's vines went into the ground in 1993 on the site of an old sawmill in Lower Barrington, back when the whole of Tasmania had barely 280 hectares under vine. Perched on a steep north-facing slope overlooking the Don Valley toward Bass Strait, the site benefits from one of the longest growing seasons in the state, and the winery has held a James Halliday five-star rating for years. Acquired in 2025 by Leigh Morgan and the Better Wine Co. team, Barringwood continues producing focused, purely Pinot Noir and Chardonnay-led wines from the original estate, alongside its acclaimed sparkling.
