Aroma

The sweetness on the nose suggests characteristics of toffee apple, caramel and fairy floss.

Palette

The palate is rich with tropical fruits, passionfruit, mangoes, lime and lychees support the full-bodied character of the wine. A minimal use of old French oak allows a small amount of silkiness to develop across the tongue, sitting alongside stone fruit to give the impression of peaches and cream. The sweetness on the nose suggests fairground characteristics, toffee apple, caramel and fairy floss, while the finish is rich with ripe citrus.

Pairings

Pairs beautifully with seafood, oysters, grilled fish, prawns, chicken salads, pork dishes, creamy pasta, goat cheese and Asian-inspired cuisine. Its texture and freshness make it especially suited to dishes with herbs, citrus and delicate spices

Wine Making

Full-bodied and fruity were the instructions to our winemaker and he has certainly fulfilled this brief. As is the French tradition, the grapes were picked late with a high sugar content, and this luscious ripeness is present
across the entire finished product.

Meet the owners

Eastford Creek came about almost by accident. Rob and Sue Nichols, better known for their poultry farming, planted their first vines on the North West Coast back in 2018 after a passing bottle of wine sparked an idea. The vineyard sits on a rocky outcrop overlooking the North West Coast, one of Tasmania's smallest and least-known wine subregions, and the family-run cellar door now welcomes visitors into restored 140-year-old agricultural sheds. Small in scale, but full of character.
