Milton Pinot Noir 2024
(0)
$45.00
Milton's East Coast vineyards produce Pinot with a fuller body than you might expect and this 2024 is a fine example of why. Dark cherry and red berry on the nose, with cinnamon spice and earthy forest floor adding complexity. Partial wild fermentation gives the palate a juicy, fruit driven energy, balanced by gentle acidity on the finish. An honest, satisfying wine from one of Tasmania's most consistent producers. Pair with roast duck, lamb, or mushroom pasta. Drink now through 2028.

Palette
The 2024 Vintage is a fuller bodied Pinot Noir with fine tannins. Dark cherry and red berry flavours that pop with subtle hints of cinnamon spice and traces of forest floor. Partially wild fermented, achieving more savory, complex characters. The wine has fruit driven, juicy mid palette, finishing with a light touch of acidity.
Pairings
This full-bodied, fine-tannined Pinot Noir with dark cherry, red berry, and warm cinnamon spice pairs beautifully with roasted duck breast, herb-crusted pork loin, or seared salmon with a berry glaze. The savory, forest-floor complexity from wild fermentation also makes it a natural match for mushroom-based dishes, charred vegetables, or a coq au vin, with its juicy mid-palate and light acidity keeping each bite fresh.
Meet the owners
Milton has been in the Dunbabin family since 1980, a property that traces its farming roots back to 1826 on the sunny Freycinet Coast. Michael and Kerry Dunbabin spent years growing wool, carrots, poppies and grain before deciding a vineyard would sit more gently on the land, planting their first vines in the early 1990s. The family still runs 3500 Merino sheep alongside the vines, now tended by the next generation, and produces small quantities of handmade Pinot Noir, Syrah, Tempranillo and aromatic whites from one of the sunniest, driest corners of the state.

East Coast
About the region
Stretching from St Helens in the north to Bream Creek in the south, Tasmania's East Coast is as breathtaking as it is bountiful. A milder climate than the rest of the state, spectacular coastal scenery, and over 300 hectares under vine make this one of Tasmania's most exciting wine regions. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the stars, but the East Coast also turns out outstanding Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, wines with a freshness and purity that's genuinely hard to find anywhere else.
