Delamere Blanc De Blancs 2018
(0)
$70.00
Delamere Blanc de Blancs 2018 is precise, mineral and built to keep evolving. Fresh lemon skin leads on the nose with real focus, while subtle toasty, nutty notes sit quietly in the background. The palate shows crisp citrus and a mineral edge, carried by long, piercing acidity that runs right through the mid-palate. The finish turns to toasty brioche, and the firm tannins promise even more complexity to come in this stunning, recently disgorged wine with seven years of age behind it. Fresh Tasmanian oysters are the perfect partner, while calamari or white fish cooked with butter and herbs also works beautifully, balancing the wine’s fresh minerality.

Aroma
Fresh lemon skin leads with real precision and focus, while subtle toasty, nutty notes sit quietly beneath.
Palette
Crisp citrus and a mineral edge are carried by long, piercing acidity that runs right through the mid-palate. The finish turns to toasty brioche, and the firm tannins promise even more complexity ahead.
Pairings
Fresh Tasmanian oysters are always perfect accompaniment for the Delamere Blanc de Blancs. Calamari, white fish, cooked with butter and herbs would balance beautifully against the fresh minerality of this wine.
Wine Making
The grapes for our Blanc de Blancs, 100% chardonnay, were whole bunch pressed, wild fermented followed by full malo and tiraging in November 2018. All our sparkling wines are made using the traditional method, with the Blanc de Blancs seeing a minimum of six years tirage before being disgorged and released. The first disgorging of this wine was August 2025. A low dosage of 5g/l allows the elegant flavours of the fruit to shine through.
Meet the owners
Delamere is one of the true pioneers of Pipers Brook, planted back in 1982 and among the oldest vineyards in the region. Husband and wife team Shane Holloway and Fran Austin took over the property in 2007, bringing serious sparkling wine credentials with them, Fran had worked alongside Ed Carr on the famed Arras label and later as head winemaker at Bay of Fires. Grown exclusively to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on rich ironstone soil, Delamere is a genuine grower producer, 100% family owned, grown, made and bottled on site.

About the region
Established in 1974 by Dr Andrew Pirie, Pipers River and Pipers Brook is the region that put Tasmanian sparkling wine on the map. A climate that mirrors Champagne, hilly terrain, and some of Tasmania's most prestigious producers come together here to create sparkling wines of extraordinary finesse. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are just as at home, producing wines of real depth, complexity and cool climate elegance.
