Aroma
Spice-forward on the nose, with star anise and clove giving way to earthier notes of dried oregano and forest floor. There's a savoury, almost briny edge in the background that gives the wine some intrigue beyond straightforward fruit.
Palette
A vibrant and elegant expression of Pinot Noir, this wine is all about the concentrated red fruits and florals. Rose petal, rhubarb and cherry are well supported by sage, lavender and subtle oak spice.
Pairings
The spice and earthy undertones pair well with duck, mushroom risotto, or lamb with herbs. Also good alongside a charcuterie board with olives.
Wine Making
Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Clone: MV6
Winemaking: The fruit was handpicked early in the morning at 12.2 Baume, and processed the same day.
100% destemmed fruit was tipped into open top
fermenters and fermented over 8 days with twice a day
gentle pumpovers. Post pressing the wine was aged
in a mix of barrique and puncheon (40% new) for 10 months.
Meet the owners
Any Roads is the work of Abbie and James, a young couple whose path into wine started in restaurants and retail before taking them to study winemaking and chase vintages across California, New Zealand and France. It was Tasmania that ultimately won their hearts, and the name reflects their guiding philosophy, that the journey shapes the wine as much as the destination. Made in the heart of northern Tasmania, Any Roads wines are about connection to place and to the people who make the journey worthwhile.

Tamar Valley
About the region
The Tamar Valley is Tasmania's oldest wine region, stretching from Launceston to the Bass Strait in the state's north. Its cool maritime climate and iron-rich soils create ideal growing conditions, and the numbers speak for themselves, home to over 30 family-owned wineries, the Tamar Valley accounts for more than a third of Tasmania's total wine production. Viticulture here goes back a long way too, with the first commercial vineyard established in the mid-1800s at Windermere, its cuttings even helping establish some of South Australia's earliest vineyards. Today, the Tamar Valley is celebrated for its Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and sparkling wines, each one reflecting the region's exceptional terroir and winemaking heritage.
