The Derwent Valley follows the river north from Hobart through some of Tasmania's most beautiful farming country. It's a region of contrasts, warm days, cold nights, and a long growing season that builds flavour slowly and deliberately. Home to some of Tasmania's most thoughtful producers, the Derwent Valley is known for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling of real elegance and precision.

Tamar Valley

The island's oldest and largest wine region, stretching from Launceston to Bass Strait. Cool maritime air and iron rich soil have supported over 30 family-run wineries here, producing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and some of the state's finest sparkling.

Pipers River & Pipers Brook

The birthplace of Tasmanian sparkling wine, with a climate genuinely compared to Champagne. This is where the island's most prestigious bubbles are made, alongside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of real depth.

East Coast

Milder, sunnier and more relaxed than the rest of the state, running from St Helens down to Bream Creek. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay lead the way, but the East Coast also turns out standout Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.

Derwent Valley

A region of contrasts just north of Hobart, warm days, cold nights, and a long growing season that builds flavour slowly. Known for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling of quiet elegance.

Huon Valley

Tasmania's southernmost wine region, dramatic and demanding. A cool, wet climate pushes Pinot Noir to its limits here, producing wines of real intensity, dark fruit and earthy complexity.

West Coast

The island's smallest and newest wine region, set against wild rainforest and rugged coastline. A handful of producers are coaxing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris from one of the most dramatic landscapes on earth.

Coal River Valley

Tasmania's sunniest region, tucked around the historic town of Richmond. Low rainfall and cooling sea breezes make for wines of real distinction, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Noir with texture and elegance in equal measure.
