Springvale Melrose Pinot Noir 2025
(0)
$32.00
The Melrose is Springvale's more expressive, fruit-forward release and it's a joy to drink. Luscious cherry, wild red forest fruits, and enticing clove and vanilla on the nose. Supple and rich on the palate, with red and black berry fruits balanced by elegant tannins and refreshing acidity. A wine that's equally at home now or in the cellar. Pair with roast duck, lamb, or mushroom risotto. Drink now through 2030.

Rich with red and black berry fruits, balanced by supple tannins and fresh acidity. Long, fresh, and vibrant, with an enticing, rolling finish.
Pairings
This vibrant Tasmanian Pinot Noir, with its luscious cherry, wild red forest fruits, and warm clove and vanilla spice, pairs beautifully with pan-seared duck breast, glazed ham, or a Tasmanian salmon dish with a berry reduction. Its supple palate and fresh acidity also make it a lovely match for charcuterie with soft cheeses, herb roasted chicken, or a cherry glazed pork tenderloin, keeping each sip as fresh as the last.
Wine Making
The Springvale Melrose Pinot Noir 2025 is produced from hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes, grown on Tasmania’s East Coast where the unique microclimate allows for slow ripening and the development of rich, complex flavours.
The vineyard’s vertical shoot positioning (VSP) system helps ensure optimal fruit exposure and even ripening. After harvest, the grapes undergo a careful fermentation process designed to retain the vibrant fruit aromas and flavours.
The wine is aged in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels, adding layers of spice and enhancing the smooth tannins, while preserving the fresh acidity that is the hallmark of cool-climate Pinot Noir. The result is a wine that is both approachable in its youth and capable of developing further elegance with time in the bottle.
Meet the owners
Spring Vale is a genuine Tasmanian institution, part of a property the Lyne family has farmed since 1875, five generations and counting. Vines went in on the East Coast property in 1986, and today Spring Vale sits on the Freycinet Coast, the sunniest stretch of the state, producing Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and sparkling wine with an emphasis on minimal intervention and letting the site speak for itself. It's the kind of place where the history runs as deep as the vines, tasting takes place in the original 1842 homestead's convict-built stables.

About the region
Stretching from St Helens in the north to Bream Creek in the south, Tasmania's East Coast is as breathtaking as it is bountiful. A milder climate than the rest of the state, spectacular coastal scenery, and over 300 hectares under vine make this one of Tasmania's most exciting wine regions. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the stars, but the East Coast also turns out outstanding Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, wines with a freshness and purity that's genuinely hard to find anywhere else.
